After reading your post, I did go through the Maintenance and Service Guide of your product and found that this computer support for M.2 SATA storage.

(Refer to 2 Chapter 1 Product description)

See p. 3 of the Manual. It IS compatible with PCIe/NVME M.2

I got the clarification from your reply and Can you please tell which generation NVMe PCIe SSD to select also.

Gen 3 x4 such as the Samsung 970 Evo or Evo Plus.
