I'd like to use a SanDisk microSDXC UHS-I 512GB card for maintaining backups. Can anyone confirm if this card is supported? I'm not concerned about any limitations due to my laptop's transfer speed. I'm considering SDXC because it might also be compatible with my future laptop.

Below is the link t the service manual for your notebook:

HP Envy x360 m6 Convertible PC (model numbers m6-aq1XX and m6-aq0XX) Maintenance and Service GuideIM...

Chapter 1 indicates the supported flash media types supported.

Micro-Secure Digital (SD) media reader slot

I have never come across any HP manual where it lists the maximum SD card storage capacity, so you will have to just insert the card and hope it works, because no one can tell you how large a capacity the media card reader will support.

The largest capacity micro-SD card I have ever installed in a HP notebook was 64 GB because that is all the storage I needed.

Manual doesn't have much information and always misleading. For example, as per manual, maximum supported RAM is 16 GB however, I have 32 GB installed and running fine.
