Hi @yaguz

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That sounds frustrating! Since the issue started after changing the system local to Japan, it’s possible that some keyboard settings or input methods were affected.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check Sticky Keys & Keyboard Settings

  • Open SettingsAccessibilityKeyboard.
  • Ensure Sticky Keys and Filter Keys are turned off.
  • Go to Control PanelRegionAdministrative tab → Change system locale and set it back to your previous locale.

2. Reset Keyboard Layout

  • Open SettingsTime & LanguageLanguage & Region.
  • Under Preferred languages, ensure English (or your preferred language) is set as default.
  • Click on your language → Keyboard options → Remove any unnecessary layouts.

3. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

  • Open SettingsSystemTroubleshootOther troubleshooters.
  • Find Keyboard and click Run.

4. Update/Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (Press Win + X → Select Device Manager).
  • Expand Keyboards → Right-click your keyboard → Update driver.
  • If updating doesn’t work, Uninstall the driver and restart your laptop.

5. Check for Windows Updates

  • Open SettingsWindows UpdateCheck for updates.
  • Install any pending updates.

6. Perform a Clean Boot

  • Type msconfig in Run (Win + R).
  • Go to Services tab → Check Hide all Microsoft services → Click Disable all.
  • Go to Startup tab → Open Task Manager → Disable unnecessary startup programs.
  • Restart your laptop and check if the issue persists.

Let me know if any of these steps help! 😊
