Hi @BrunoM5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I completely understand how concerning it must feel to notice the keyboard markings fading.

To help us look into this further, could you please share the exact model of your laptop? Additionally, if possible, kindly provide a clear picture of the keyboard so we can validate the issue and guide you with the best possible solution.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.

Hi @BrunoM5,

Thanks for your response and Thank you for sharing the details of your HP Laptop 17-cn3xxx with us. I understand how it can be to see the markings on your "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys fading, especially since these are frequently used keys. After validating the picture, I can confirm that this is a hardware-related . The keyboard keycaps are part of the physical assembly, and restoring the markings would require a replacement of the affected hardware components.

To ensure your device receives the appropriate care, we recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.

That’s surprisingly quick for the markings to fade definitely not what you’d expect after just a month. It might be worth checking if it’s a known issue with that model or reaching out to HP support while it’s still under warranty. In the meantime, a keyboard cover or stickers could help prevent further wear.

Hi Barnado
Thanks a lot for your research. Yes, I am interessted in a "keyboard cover or stickers". HP exchanged the keyboard taps, but it looks like the same after a short time.
Where can I order the "stickers"?

Thanks in advance

Bruno
