@Oriakhi, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Error Code 19 typically indicates that Windows cannot start the hardware device because its configuration information in the registry is incomplete or damaged. Here’s how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue for your Intel Core-powered HP device with a keyboard problem:

Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver:

  • Open Device Manager by searching for it in the Windows search bar.
  • Find and expand the Keyboards section.
  • Right-click on the problematic keyboard device and select Uninstall Device.
  • Confirm the action, then restart your computer. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically upon reboot.

Use System Restore:

  • If the issue started after a recent change, restoring the system to a previous state might help.
  • Open the Control Panel and search for Recovery.
  • Select Open System Restore and follow the prompts to restore to a point where the keyboard was working correctly.

Registry Fix:

  • Be cautious while editing the registry, as incorrect changes can cause system issues.
  • Press Windows Key + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
  • Navigate to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\[4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318]
  • Look for UpperFilters and LowerFilters values in the right pane. If present, right-click and delete them.
  • Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI):

  • Use the HP Diagnostics tool to check for hardware faults.
  • Turn off your computer, then turn it back on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup menu opens.
  • Press F2 to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, and run a test for the keyboard hardware.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, updating Windows can resolve driver and hardware issues.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for any available updates.
