@Dima_K, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Spectre x360 - 15-ch011dx keyboard stopped working after a Windows 11 update, the issue is likely due to a driver conflict, firmware/BIOS problem, or incomplete update. Here’s a step-by-step guide to fix it:
Initial Checks
- External Keyboard: Plug in a USB keyboard to navigate.
- Touchscreen & Touchpad: Confirm if they still work — this helps determine the extent of hardware impact.
Check for Disabled Keyboard in Device Manager
- Press Win + X > choose Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- If you see HID Keyboard Device or your keyboard listed:
- Right-click it > select Uninstall device.
- Check the box for "Delete the driver software" (if available).
- Click Action > Scan for hardware changes at the top.
Reinstall/Update Keyboard Driver
Still in Device Manager:
- Right-click the keyboard again > Update driver > Search automatically.
- If nothing changes, go to HP official website:
- Link: HP Spectre x360 - 15-ch011dx Drivers
- Download and install the Keyboard, Chipset, and BIOS drivers (latest versions).
Rollback or Uninstall Recent Windows Update
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History > Uninstall updates.
- Identify the recent update and uninstall it.
- Reboot and check keyboard functionality.
Check BIOS Settings
- Reboot the laptop.
- Press Esc repeatedly at startup to access the Startup Menu, then press F10 for BIOS Setup.
- In BIOS:
- Go to Advanced > Built-in Device Options.
- Ensure Internal Keyboard is Enabled.
- Save and exit with F10.
Perform System Restore
If it was working just before the update:
- Press Win + R, type rstrui, press Enter.
- Select a restore point dated before the update.
- Proceed with restoration.
Run HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics
- Shut down the laptop.
- Power on and immediately press Esc repeatedly > then press F2.
- Select Component Tests > Keyboard Test.
- Follow the instructions to test your keyboard hardware.
Perform a Hard Reset
Sometimes this resets keyboard detection.
- Power off the laptop.
- Unplug AC adapter.
- Hold Power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect power and boot.
If All Else Fails:
- Boot into Safe Mode to check if the keyboard works there.
- A clean reinstall of Windows 11 may be needed if the issue is persistent and software-related.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
