Hi @cbj0405,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP PC keyboard is not working, here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

Step-by-Step Fix for Keyboard Not Working

1. Check for Physical Issues

  • Make sure no keys are stuck or physically damaged.
  • If it's a detachable or wireless keyboard, check the connection or battery.

2. Restart Your PC

  • Sometimes a simple restart can reload the keyboard driver.

3. Use an External Keyboard

  • Plug in a USB keyboard to check if the issue is hardware-related.
  • If the external keyboard works, the internal one may be faulty.

4. Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
  • Expand Keyboards.
  • Right-click your keyboard > Uninstall device.
  • Restart your PC  Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart your PC and press F2 repeatedly to enter HP UEFI Diagnostics.
  • Run the Keyboard Test to check for hardware faults.

6. Check Ease of Access Settings

  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
  • Make sure Filter KeysSticky Keys, and Toggle Keys are turned off.

7. Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Visit Official HP® Support and enter your PC model.
  • Download and install the latest BIOS and keyboard drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
