Envy 13-D055tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I spoiled a drink on my laptop last week and immediately after, I made it dry but after a while,  some parts of the keyboard such as arrow keys and shift are not working. I checked the websites and found that the whole keyboard needs to be replaced,

The thing that matters there isn't any keyboard on markets for my laptop Envy "13-D055tu".

can I get a keyboard, for example, from "Envy 13-D" or others which are similar to my laptop?

Please, help me with this issue.

This is a very common problem. HP only offers the replacement part as the whole top cover. Online sellers get the keyboard part of that assembly from a supplier and sell it as a keyboard to unsuspecting buyers. What they do not tell you is just how difficult it is to get the old keyboard out of the top cover and replace it with the piece you see in the eBay auction. The keyboard is bolted into the back of the top cover with rivets which have to be broken and reattached. It could theoretically be done but it is very hard to get the keyboard firmly re-attached and flat. The few people we have had report on it were not happy with what they wound up with. A wobbly keyboard difficult to type on. I answer a couple of these questions a week and have actually tried to do this repair. A lot of people think its like the old days when laptop keyboards would just pop out and back in but building them into the top cover is the way most are made these days. It means spilling a drink on the keyboard has gone from a minor annoyance to a major expensive problem.

Yes replacement parts are generally the same for all models in the same series. Here is the Manual:

See p. 15

Your profile says you are in the USA so I assume you need this keyboard and top cover:

Thanks for your reply and explanation.

Do you have any picture of the back side of the keyboard?
You know, there is a big cost difference between a keyboard and top cover for envy 13-d and I am still trying to solve it by just replacing the keyboard.

You will find no instructions in the Manual for removing the keyboard from the top cover and if you look at this picture you see no screws. The keyboard is riveted in place.
