Hello! my laptop is bulging from left side where keyboard connects screen. The screen flushes fine on the righthand side, but the left is bulging. when i try to close the laptop lid lower case of keyboard separates from the upper case and makes cracking sound. Laptop never fell down or experienced any blunt force. It was closing fine until the day before. Laptop warranty is expired, not sure what to do. please help.
I have an HP 14-cf0008 laptop.
Thank you so much!

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
This is a very serious issue and needs to be addressed right away: what you described is almost certainly indicative that your battery is failing (bulging!) and needs to be replaced ASAP.
I assume that you meant you have an HP Notebook - 14-cf0008ca (emphasis added), please verify.
In case you have an HP Notebook - 14-cf0008ca (4BQ33UA), according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06060661, and: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer?searchtext=4BQ33UA, requires this type of battery: L11119-855 ("Assembly-battery 3C 41W 3.6A LI HT03XL").
You can purchase a quality HT03XL replacement battery online, such as this example: https://www.amazon.com/HT03XL-15-CS0053CL-15-DA0053WM-15-DB0011DX-17-BY0061ST/dp/B0B3QQ46WT/ref=sr_1....
Here is a YouTube instructional video how to replace your battery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLO3ulNrPxU&ab_channel=FIXtasticContents.
Hope this was helpful.

Please check your battery to make sure the battery is not bulging.
If it is not the battery that is causing your issue, it could still be a failing electrical component. If you are comfortable/knowledgeable taking your laptop apart, I would do so in order to investigate the cause.
Another option is to take your laptop to a local PC repair shop and have them diagnose it -assuming your HP laptop warranty has expired. This may cost you a fee, but that's the way forward in my opinion.
