laptop battery stuck at 3%, only works when plugged in.

I had been experiencing power-related issues with my HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop 13-bf0xxx since yesterday evening. The laptop would not charge, and it only powered on when plugged in. Even after leaving it connected to the charger for hours, the battery percentage remained at 3% , and the laptop shut down immediately if I disconnected the charger.

I've tried the following:

• Checked Battery Health:

  • I used Windows PowerShell (powercfg /batteryreport) and HP Support Assistant to check the battery health.
  • Surprisingly, the battery health status appeared normal, with no signs of significant wear or degradation.

• Uninstalled and Reinstalled Battery Drivers:

  • I went to Device Manager > Batteries and uninstalled the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver.
  • After restarting the laptop, Windows automatically reinstalled the driver, but the issue persisted.

• Ran HP BIOS Hardware Diagnostics:

  • To dig deeper, I booted into BIOS diagnostics by pressing F8 at startup.
  • Navigated to System Diagnostics > Component Tests > Power > Battery Test.
  • The test failed and displayed the following error message:
    • "Battery Check: Primary - Replace (42)"
    • Primary: Logic State -OK (0),Charge state - Blown Fuse (42)what is the solution ? should i replace the battery or can i deal with the fuse alone?

Unfortunately the fuse is not repairable or replaceable as it's apparently built in the battery itself. I hope this answers your question. 

This should fall under warranty though, if your device has battery warranty left!
