Hi @KKarch,

I understand you’re concerned about how frequent charging affects your HP Victus laptop’s battery life. Let me explain how it works and what’s best for long-term performance.

Modern Battery Management

HP Victus laptops use smart lithium-ion batteries with built-in protection circuits.

This means you can keep the charger plugged in without overcharging — once the battery reaches 100%, charging stops automatically.

Effect of Frequent Charging

Plugging in your laptop when the battery drains (for example, from 40–50%) will not harm the battery.

However, frequently letting the battery drop below 20% before recharging can shorten battery lifespan over time.

Best Practice for Battery Health

Keep your battery between 40–80% whenever possible.

Avoid keeping it at 100% for days at a time, especially in hot environments.

If you mostly use it plugged in, enable Battery Care or Adaptive Charging (available in HP BIOS or HP Support Assistant) to optimize charge cycles.

When to Plug and Unplug

Use the laptop on battery power occasionally (once every few weeks) to help the battery recalibrate.

If you plan to store the laptop for an extended period, leave the battery at 50–60% charge and store it in a cool, dry place.

I hope this helps.
