I received a firmware update that I didn't ask for and now it won't install properly. Everytime I start the laptop I get the message "Wait for a firmware update" (or something like that  - my computer speaks Swedish).  After some seconds it seems to be done, but it says "You need to restart the computer".  Restarting makes no difference - next time I start the computer I get the same two messages.

Windows doesn't like this, computer is slower than before.

Is there something I can do? Is it possible to roll back a firmware update that didn't succeed?

Yes.

That can be done.

Connect the power adapter so the laptop will have externally supplied DC power for this entire procedure.

Hold down the Windows key  and the B key at the same time.

Keep holding those keys down and press the power button. Do not release the Windows key  and the B key!!

You may have to hold the two keys down for up to a minute before your laptop responds with a recovering or restoring BIOS message.

When you see that message you can release the keys.

Do not remove power or interrupt any process that has begun!!

If you do, you will probably brick your laptop!!

Bricking a laptop is when it has become as useful as a brick.

Now you must wait until you see the BIOS recovery complete message. (BIOS-återställning klar)!!

If you do not wait until it is complete, you can brick your laptop.
