@Leelaprasad, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 (4V9Y1AV) is overheating on the bottom right side, here are some of the steps to resolve it:
Update BIOS & Drivers
- Go to the HP Support website, enter your model, and download the latest BIOS and chipset/graphics drivers.
- Use Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to check for updates.
Improve Ventilation
- Use the laptop on a hard, flat surface.
- Consider a cooling pad to help with heat dissipation.
- Ensure no dust is clogging the vent or exhaust fans.
Clean Internal Fans & Vents
- If you're comfortable, open the back panel and clean the fan, heat sink, and vents with compressed air.
- Alternatively, consider getting it cleaned professionally at a service center.
Check Resource Usage
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager and see if CPU, disk, or memory usage is consistently high.
- Disable or uninstall unnecessary startup programs or background apps.
Run HP Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and press Esc, then F2 to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run a System Test or Thermal Test to see if hardware is overheating abnormally.
Check for Malware or Heavy Background Tasks
- Run a full virus scan using tools like Windows Security or Malwarebytes to detect rogue processes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Take a look at the video HERE from HP on your laptop, on how to get inside. The picture below shows what is on the right side rear face... viewed from the rear. The hinge edge is up in that picture, for perspective.
Outlined in red is the internal NVMe M.2 form factor SSD. These can get hot. Memory is above on that same side, which also can get hot. HP does not show a heatsink over the SSD and likely are using the rear cover as a heatsink instead. Working from bed with your laptop resting atop a down comforter would not be a great idea here.
