Microsoft Windows 11

The keyboard and touchpad on my laptop abruptly stopped working.  This happened a while ago and an update fixed the issue, but no update is available now.  I updated the driver for the touchpad, but that did nothing.  I could not find a driver for the laptop on the HP website.  Thanks.

Hi@Bob_Loblaw_123,

Thanks for engaging in the HP support community! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand that you need assistance with the keyboard and touchpad stopping notebook. I’ll be glad to assist you with this.

Let us initiate the keyboard test by following the below steps:

  1. Turn off the computer, and then unplug the power cord.

  2. Disconnect any peripheral devices, and then remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.

  3. With the power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for approximately 15 seconds.

  4. After you drain the capacitors, plug in the power cord. Leave peripheral devices disconnected.

  5. Turn on the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
