I have the same issue with my HP Chromebook this morning.  Suddenly the keyboard does not work at all, but I can use the device by dictating with the mic.  A poster on another forum reported a problem with his Asus Zenbook today where only the number keys work.

I fixed my Chromebook by powering off and then holding the power and reset buttons down for 15 seconds.   Not sure if it will cause any data loss, This was after talking to Costco Concierge and HP and doing a power wash.
