Hi,

Can you provide the exact model number or product number of your notebook for further help. Here is how to find it.

model

Well, the duck sound if I had to guess would be the Hard Drive failing which will also cause slowness of the notebook.

You could try performing HP hardware diagnostics at boot.

You can perform a fast system test.

Turn off the PC by holding the power button until complete shutdown.

Turn on the PC and repeatedly press ESC until startup menu appears.

Press F2 to enter diagnostics.

Try performing the system test and see if there are any failure ids.

Let me know,

David
