My hard drive crashed and I took my laptop to a repair shop. They replaced hard drive and it was supposed to have been replaced with what was removed. But since I brought it home it is very slow,it is not functioning as before.I need advice, what were the specs of the hard drive which it had in it before?I looked at the specs of what is in it now and I think that is why it is slow.Any help appreciated. Here are the original specs:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04395386
It has a 500 gig 5400 rpm spinning mechanical hard drive and there is no lower end drive they could have used to replace it.
The laptop is not a speed demon to begin with, having a very low end processor and small amount of memory. I think we would want to take a peek at the device manager and also I would run some diagnostics on the hardware just to be sure they did not replace it with a used hard drive having issues.
Tap esc as you power up then F2 to test hdd and memory and let us know if you do not know how to access the device manager.
