Hi,
You mean the Led where you plug in the ac adapter is not lighting up?
Can you try a different ac adapter. Most HP adapters will work (if they have the correct tip)
Check and see if the lead into the actual body of the adapter is well seated.
Let me know,
David

We took it to Office Depot where we purchased it. The Tech there tried different power supply cord with no change. The computer was functioning earlier in the day, was not unplugged in between uses. when we came back to use it a little later in the day it had shut down and won't restart. Office Depot suggested trying HP Support.

Ok.
You could try a power reset and see if it helps.
Look under "Reset a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery"
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768
Otherwise there could be a problem with the power connector, the battery or the actual motherboard.
Is the notebook still under warranty?
