A few years back I bought an HP 17" envy laptop with optical drive, 1TB HDD + 512GB SSD. It was a fantastic computer, and I really loved it. But after a while I needed to replace the battery, and I foolishly decided to do it myself following an official HP video on YouTube. I ended up burning the circuitry, and since it would have cost me a fortune to get the laptop repaired, I bought a cheaper model, without the optical drive.
I'm happy with my present laptop, but would dearly love to buy another one with optical drive, similar to the old envy I used to have. Does anyone know if there are still models available with a CD/DVD drive? I'd like something with a decent memory and storage space, and NOT used.
Thanks.

Google search can be your friend. Do the same search I did in your browser in Italian to get local results.

Thanks very much, Erico. I'd actually already searched Google but with little success. I clicked on the link you sent me, and the model number is the same as that of my old laptop. But now that model does NOT feature an optical drive. I don't know why it has been discontinued. I can find no other HP laptops with optical drive (at least not here in Italy).

Unfortunately, optical drives are being replaced because of newer technology.
I have actually not used a DVD in years or even installed an optical drive on my gaming pc builds.
When laptop manufacturers stopped including DVDs with drivers and software, that was a harbinger of the future.
My suggestion is purchase an external optical disk of your preference while you still can.
