Dear Sir,    I contacted HP sales asking for a HP Omen Laptop that has at least 1 extra M2 drive port. Salesman recommended the OMEN Transcend Gaming Laptop 14t-fb000, 14".   It arrived today and before turning it on i checked if it had the extra M2

slot. The HP salesman told me that it had 4 internal M2 slots "because it is 4x4". I received the laptop today. It has only 1 M2 slot that i could see. It did not appear to have a hidden location with another M2 slot. Just 1 slot. I need at least 2 slots. ( I then googled 4x4 and found it does not mean 4 M2 slots as the sakesman told me.) I have emails from salesman where he emailed me a link to order the HP Omen that I received today that has only 1 M2 slot.

My HP Omen that i got previously has 2 M2 ports. So, is there and HP Omen or other gaming or Home type laptop that

has at least 2 M2 ports.

Please help. I must have at least 2 slots or capability for 2 internal drives. I do not want to use anything that is not HP or Compaq. Also, i do not want to spend outrageous prices to get a commercial laptop just to have a second M2 slot. I would greatly appreciate help.

If i can not find such an HP laptop, then i will have to check other brands. I am happy with HPs for many years and do not

want to change unless there is no other choice.

You're very welcome.

HP does not have a service manual for the 16-wf1xxx model series.

It goes to reason that if the older 16-wf0xx model series has support for two M.2 NVMe SSD's then the newer model series should also have that feature.

You can see from the 16-wf1xxx model series' user guides page, that is the same manual I posted...for the older model series.

HP has few series of notebooks which have TWO internal M.2 slots, they are not in my mind now BUT I know for sure the Omen 17-ck0000 series has TWO M.2 slots for M,2 NVMe drives. You can use as RAID0 or as 2 different drives as on page 2 of the following manual

Dear Banhien, Thank you for trying to help. Your link to a manual for the HP Omen you mentioned is dated  the year 2021 and is Intel 11th generation. My old  HP Omen is Intel generation 13. My old HP Omen I purchased about 9 months ago. But i need the extra drive to run Protools music software. It operates best with one drive for the software and the other drive for the data. I found the 13th generation was very good. But now that the 14th generation is out i want the extra speed without spending a fortune. The 14th generation I got (OMEN Transcend Gaming Laptop 14t-fb000, 14"  )did not have 2 M2 drives but it was a 14 inch. . My old machine, which i still use until i find a better one, is a 16 inch machine. WHen i purchased it 9 months ago, HP told me it would have an extra M2 slot and does.

There is a 14th generation now available that came out and is on sale. The 16 inch Omen that I want would be the newer version gen 14  of what i have is the OMEN Gaming Laptop 16t-wf100, 16.1" I do not know if this has 2 M2 drives like the 13th gen has. Does anybody know. This is on sale for another 48 hours for $1099.00

THere is another 14th gen Omen on sale the OMEN Transcend Gaming Laptop 16t-u100, 16.1". This is similar to the one that i received today that only has one M2 internal port. I do not know if this has 2 M2 drives like the 13th gen has. Does anybody know. This one is on sale for another 48 hours for $1350.

So, i need to know soon if either of the 2 above have an extra M2 port while the sale is on.

I need a 14th gen HP laptop, home use, preferably gaming that has 2 M2 ports. The HP salesman recommended a different HP Omen Transcend that has only 1 M2 port that arrived today. I need 2 M2 ports. I chatted with HP and the person recommended the Zbook which costs over $3500. I dont need all it has; I just need a second port the way HP did the 13th gen Omen 16 inch that i still have in the 14th generation.

I want to add one more thing. 9 months ago when I purchased the 13th gen Omen size 16 inch, the specification online didnot say it had 2 M2 ports. But the salesman from HP told me it had 2 ports even though 2 ports was not mentioned in the specification. So I am hoping that the 16 inch gen 14 Omen would have a similarity in having 2 M3 slots just like the Generation 14 Omen that i have had for 9 months. It would make sense that it does because they are each 16 inch. But i am not going to guess. So, i am asking about it here. The one i just received today is only a 14 inch and it would make sense that a 16 inch has more space available on the motherboard for a second M2 drive than the 14 inch. Commonsense. But i just want to verify.

Typo, not M3 slot but M2 drive slot.

Hi:

I don't know of any HP 14" notebooks that come with 2 NVMe SSD slots.

Very few 15/6" notebooks do, and I can't think of any offhand.

This 16.1" Omen model series has two NVMe SSD slots:

Paul.......that is exactly the one i mentioned that i want that is on sale for 2 more days. It is basically the same as what i got around 9 months ago from HP, but it is generation 14 instead of generation 13.

That is what was hoping. That is the one i was originally going to get. But i called HP for support and sales told me that it

has only 1 M2 slot. He recommended a 14 inch one instead of the 16 inch one i was asking about. ANd when i compare the specs online, the one he told me to get, which i received today has less number of cores and less threads. And he told me it has more cores and threads than the one you just mentioned.

I will order it now. from HP directly which is exactly the one you stated. But i will not write problem solved until i see the 2 M2 slots after i receive it. Thank you. Before i do, i have 1 more question. HP also has the transcend with the same number of cores and threads as the one you mentioned. It costs $300 more. What is better about the transcend  OMEN Transcend Gaming Laptop 16t-u100, 16.1" than the one you mentioned. THey each have the same number of cores and threads. THey are both 16 inch. I assume they both have 2 M2 slots, They both have the same graphics. if you agree. Why is it $300 higher. I am getting these directly from HP on their super sale. Once you answer, then i will order. What does Omen 16 inch Transcent do that the 16" Omen does not do?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answers to all of your questions other than to provide the link to the service manual for the older 16-u0xx model series and chapter 6, page 40 of the manual shows the illustration of the single M.2 NVMe slot.

pdf_7753215_en-US-1.pdf (hp.com)

The 16-u1xx model series most likely does not have support for two M.2 SSD's.

The service teardown video for the 16-wf0xxx model series shows two M.2 SSD slots.

The video is for the 16-wd0xxx model series which shares the same manual, but the 16-wd0xxx model series does not have two NVMe slots.  Only the 16-wf model series does.

Dear Paul,  You said that the 16t-wf000, 16.1" has 2 M2 internal ports. The original link that you sent me a link to is the "OMEN Gaming Laptop 16t-wf100, 16.1", .................that is  16t-wf100 not the 16t-wf000, 16.1 in your above message.

Based on your original link,  the 16t-wf100, 16.1 does  have 2 M2 internal ports as well as the 16t-wf000, 16.1.  So, the 16t-wf100, 16.1 is what i will order from the HP site while the special is still on. If not so, please send me response as soon as possible. I greatly appreciate your excellent help.
