Hi,
I have my omen laptop for 4 years and my original power source just died. I have a 65 W power source in reserve but my laptop won't charge if I plug it and it gives me an error message that it will not charge using a low-power power source. I ordered used original 200 W charger but I would like to use my laptop for standard usage (not games) until the new power source arrives. Is there any way to force my laptop to charge from a low-power power source?

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05566955
It uses 200 W AC power adapter. You can NOT use lower wattage adapter. My suggestion: Use your machine on battery and the trick is:
- turn off your machine
- let the 65W power adapter to charge its battery to 100% (may take a long time)
- remove the AC adapter and use battery.
Do the same when battery runs out
Regards.

Why can't I use lower wattage adapter? Laptop says something about being engineered to work with lower wattage adapter but that there is error with some setting. Unfortunately windows are broken (what a surprise) and I can't see whole message in notification centre.
The adapter has same voltage and it's original HP adapter but gives just less energy and I doubt my laptop would use more energy when I'm just using Chrome.
