I have installed an WD 2280 m.2 sata3 500GB SSD in to the vacant m.2 slot in my Laptop, but it doesn't appear anywhere at all.
Ultimately I want to clone my HDD over to it and use it as the boot with the HDD for additional data.
I have searched multiple forums and have not been able to find a solution.
What I have tried so far:
Re-install the SSD, a few times, no change.
I have tried to look for the SSD in device manager, but it doesn't show up.
I have looked for in the Disk Manager, it doesn't show.
Installed WD proprietary software to see if it could find it, no change.
I have flashed the BIOS to the most recent version available, no change.
Updated all drivers to latest versions, no change.
Tried EaseUS data recovery software, no change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Remove the HDD and try and find the SSD using windows installer, nothing.

Hi:
Since you have done everything you can to find the hard drive (there is nothing else I can possibly think of for you to try) you can assume it is one of two things...
1. The WD M.2 SATA SSD is DOA.
2. The M.2 slot is dead.
The service manual indicates that M.2 SATA SSD's are supported, and so are dual drive configurations, so that isn't the problem.

You're very welcome, Chris.
You can still use the M.2 SSD, and buy a 2.5" to M.2 SATA converter as well...something like this...
