Here's the Service manual:

Manual

See p. 78. It does support a SATA type M.2 mSSD, but you have to remove the motherboard to install it. You have a 1 TB 5400 rpm mechanical hard drive and it would be a little easier to install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in place of the hard drive but 1 TB and larger SSDs are pretty expensive.

Any SATA M.2 2280 form factor (gumstick) which will generally have a 3-prong connector rather than 2, should work.

Are you sure about the slot because I can't find it anywhere else on the internet?? Please give me a link for any article related to this apart from the one already in the manual. Thank you so much for your help so far.

No I am not 100% sure is why I told you that a 2.5 inch is better. There is no other article on the Internet other than the HP Manual.
