@lcaaa,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

You can usually find the manufacture date of your HP laptop in one of these ways:

1. Check the BIOS / System Information:

  • Press F1 or Esc immediately at startup (before Windows loads).

  • Look for a field like “Born On Date” or “Build Date.” That’s the original factory manufacture date.

2. Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Open HP Support Assistant (preinstalled on most HP systems).

  • Click My devices → select your laptop → Specifications. The build date often appears there.

3. Check the Serial Number (S/N):

  • Turn over your laptop or open a Command Prompt and copy/paste/enter:

    wmic bios get serialnumber
  • With the serial number, you can go to HP Warranty Check and see the start date of warranty, which is usually close to the manufacture date.

  • Please Note: The wmic bios get serialnumber command doesn’t always work on HP laptops -often it returns a blank line. If that happens, you’ll need to check the BIOS screen or the product label on your laptop.

4. Check HP Support Site (Automatic Detection)

  • Go to HP Product Information → “Detect my product.”

  • It will give you details, including warranty start and sometimes the factory build date.

Kind Regards,
