HP Spectre x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-eu0000 (7K633AV)
Hello, I am an HP Specter user. Every time I turn on my computer, the mouse cursor becomes larger. I shrink it from the settings menu, but when I turn on my computer again, it appears larger.
What should I do?

Hi @HAKAN38,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems like the mouse cursor size keeps resetting every time you restart your HP Spectre x360, which can be quite frustrating. Here are a few solutions to help resolve this issue:

Solution 1: Check Ease of Access Settings

The mouse cursor size may be controlled by the Ease of Access settings in Windows 10 or 11.

  1. Go to Settings:
    • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Ease of Access:
    • In Settings, click on Ease of Access (or Accessibility if you're using Windows 11).
  3. Adjust Mouse Pointer Size:
    • On the left menu, select Mouse pointer.
    • Under the Change pointer size, set the pointer size to your preferred size.
  4. Check if the settings are sticking:
    • Ensure the cursor size is set correctly and try restarting your laptop to see if the settings stay.

Solution 2: Check Mouse and Touchpad Settings in Control Panel

Sometimes, the mouse settings can be managed by specific drivers or software outside of the default Windows settings.

  1. Open Control Panel:
    • Press Windows + R, type Control Panel, and hit Enter.
  2. Navigate to Mouse Settings:
    • In the Control Panel, go to Hardware and Sound > Mouse.
  3. Adjust Pointer Settings:
    • In the Mouse Properties window, go to the Pointers tab.
    • You can choose a smaller pointer scheme here and set it to apply on startup.
  4. Apply and Restart:
    • Apply the settings and restart your computer to check if the settings persist.

Solution 3: Update Graphics Drivers

Sometimes, the issue could be due to an outdated graphics driver, which may affect how the cursor is displayed.

  1. Open Device Manager:
    • Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Display Adapters:
    • Right-click your Graphics Driver and select Update driver.
  3. Search for Updates:
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software and let Windows check for the latest drivers.
  4. Restart Your Computer:
    • After updating, restart your laptop and check if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
