max size of RAM in dv6-6159er

Tell me, please, what is the maximum size of RAM I can use in the Pavilion dv6-6159er?

On the official website indicates 8Gb. But the characteristics of the processor i5 2140m - indicated that the maximum size of RAM is 16GB.

Hi,

Not 8GB, not 16GB. It supports 12GB max only.

Supports up to 12 GB max system memory (DDR3L-1600MHz module), (select models only)
Supports the following system RAM configurations:
● 12288 MB (8192 MB×1+ 4096 MB×1)
● 8192 MB (8192 MB×1 or 4096 MB×2); not supported on computer models equipped  with a 32-bit operating system

Yes, Intel i5 2140m may support up to 16GB but not for many machines with Intel® Rapid Storage Technology.

On the models with 2d gen Intel Core the Quad Cores will take 16 gigs and the dual cores 8. The OP's is a dual core so 8 is the maximum. Anything that will take an 8 + 4 will also take 8 + 8.

Yes it can take 8+8 but for Intel machines, in many cases HP allows max 12GB because of the cache which is only 24GB.

Thank you all! The practical method found out that my laptop supports 16 GB of RAM. I take CORSAIR CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9 DDR3. Works in dual channel mode.

Доброго времени, Сергей. Можете ли вы мне помочь? У меня накрылся жеский диск,поменяла жеский.переустановила систему. теперь не работают драйвера  видеокарты. скачала все драйвера с этого сайта -они конфликтуют. Мне нужен образ загрузочного диска со всеми драйверами с dv6-6159er. У меня винда 7 лицензия, ключ вобью свой. Моя почта [content removed] Очень прошу помочь. Заранее спасибо.
