I have a HP dv2 pavillion, and i want to replace the the memory. This is an attempt to refurbish this notebook/laptop.
AFAIK there's only ONE slot on the motherboard.
Right now there's a 2GB, DDR2, chip inside this notebook/laptop. I wanna the fastest, still compatible memory chip for this notebook/laptop.
Is that the 4GB, DDR2, PC2-6400, 800mhz???
Or can I also put DDR3 or DDR4 inside?

Hi:
What is the full model number or product number of your dv2?
The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.
Please do not post the serial number.
You cannot change the type of memory in the PC.
If there is DDR2 memory in there now, that is all it can run.
DDR3 runs at a different voltage, has a different number of contact pins and the slot is cut in a different place, making it physically impossible to install DDR3 memory in a DDR2 memory slot.
The same can be said for DDR4 or DDR for that matter.
