What is the maximum ram and the maximum frequency of the ram for HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0xxx

because I will change my ram from stocks into 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200mhz  

so can i change it 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200mhz or just 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2666mhz?

What is your Gaming Laptop 15-cx0xxx  ? For example

 

          HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0020nr

 

Your machine should be very close to the above machine. It supports 2666MHz RAM.

 

You can install 3200MHz RAM but it will automatically downgrade to 2666MHz. You can upgrade to 32GB if you wish using

      Note: will run at 2666MHz
