How much is the maximum ram capacity and ram  speed this laptop can handle?

The ram installed in my laptop is 1x4gb 1Rx16 PC4-2400t-SC0-11 and  1x2 1Rx16 PC4-2400t-SC0-11. All in all, it is 6gb total. same brand same model. But the speed that showing in the cpu-z is just 933mhz and in the task manager>performance 933mhz also.  Do you think is it becoz of the drivers?

thanks in advance!

Hi,

The RAM speed of your laptop is 1866MHz. The strange thing about RAM is that the actual speed of your RAM is 933MHz, however since it is DDR (double data rate) the speed is multiplied by two, hence 1866MHz. So, it is all correct (CPU-Z...) and the RAM in your system is working correctly.

You can insert 2400MHz or 2133MHz modules and they will run at 1866MHz. You can purchase from your preferred brand

Max RAM for your system is 16GB of DDR4 2400MHz (2x8GB)

Example:

On page 46 of the service manual, you can see the steps to install the RAM

You should also consider replacing the 2.5"HDD with a 2.5" SSD which would give a considerable boost to everyday performance of the PC.

Hope it helps,

David
