Going to buy some memory, but I don't know if I should get buffered or unbuffered.
Is there a way to tell which my system has now?

Hi,

A mainstream notebook, such as yours,  will have unbuffered, non-ecc memory installed.

Buffered memory is something I have only seen in servers.

Use the dmidecode and lshw commands in a terminal to get hardware information about your notebook.

Hi, @Michael_Piziak Buffered RAM is a memory module in computers that have a register between the DRAM modules and the system's memory controller. Unbuffered RAM is a memory module in a computer that does not have a register between the DRAM module and the system's memory controller.

That being said you can see a list of compatible RAM for your laptop here.

Yea, I was going to buy from another place.
