I would like to upgrade my HP 255 G5 AMD A8 7410 , i mention the processor make as there , as im sure members of the forum are aware, many configuratons for this laptop.  I would lke to upgrade the memory on this laptop, but cannot find a list as to what memory is compatible for this laptop, by that i mean currently in this laptop 1600 mhz ddr3 memory is installed , but would lke to know if i can use 1866 mhz memory.  Please can anyone assist with this . thankyou in advance

Hi,

 

The max RAM for your system is 16GB of DDR3L – 1600 Mhz RAM Sodimm. (2x8GB)

 

You can not use 1866Mhz RAM or at least if it works it will still only run at 1600Mhz. You can use many brands such as Crucial, Kingston ... as long as it is DDR3L-1600  and each stick max 8GB.

 

On page 46 of service manual you can see various steps to install the RAM.
