HP Notebook - 14s-dk0094au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hp info says 2 memory slots 1 filled with 8gb memory ddr4 2400. I am not sure if the board will operate with 16gb if I add 8gb more. Also not sure of the brand although it says hynix but also suggestes crucial brand.

Hi,

The notebook will support max 32GB of DDR4 2400MHz (2x16GB) even if service manual mentions 16GB.

There are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module and one empty slot. So you can add another 8GB in the empty slot for a total of 16GB which should be more than enough. You can get from your preferred brand.

Example:

On page 42 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

Hope it helps,

David

Hello. I am from Ukraine, I am writing through Google translator. I bought an HP Laptop 15-da0xxx (Pentium N 5000 processor, graphics card NVIDIA GeForce MX110, Motherboard 84AB 82.20). It has 4 GB of RAM (4Gb SK Hynix 2400MHz), it has only one slot in the laptop (I took it apart and saw that there was only 1 RAM slot). Can I install 8 GB of RAM here? That is, I take out the 4 GB bar, and put the 8 GB bar in its place? I repeat, there is only one slot for RAM, there is a place for the second slot, but it is not soldered to the motherboard. The processor supports 8 GB of RAM, but will it work with one bar in one slot?
