I have an HP Pavillion H8-1230. Replaced the hard drive with a new 2TB Seagate. Tried to do a new, clean install of Windows 7 Pro but I keep getting an error that says "a required cd/dvd device driver is missing". I always thought that basic device drivers were included in Windows, but I guess I am wrong. I cannot find this driver anywhere. My CD/DVD rom is an HP GH60L SuperMulti DVD burner. Can anybody please help?

Hi,
Try the following.
Using another PC, download the relevant RAID driver on the following link.
Storage Controller Driver - Windows 7 32bit.
Storage Controller Driver - Windows 7 64bit.
Next, if you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip. Please note, if you have a 64bit installation, download and install the .msi 64-bit x64 installer on the link below.
Next, right click the Storage Controller installer you download, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok. Copy this 'extracted' folder to the root of a USB drive or a blank CD.
When you get to install error message, plug in the USB drive ( if you used a CD, remove the installation disc and insert the CD ) and then select the option to 'Load Drivers' - browse to the location on the USB/CD and load the driver.
