Hi @gonzo6389,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing some issues with the touchpad on your HP Notebook 15. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.

Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor software glitches. Try restarting your laptop and see if the touchpad starts working again.

Update drivers: Outdated or corrupted touchpad drivers can cause issues with its functionality. You can update the drivers through Device Manager:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
  • Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" category.
  • Right-click on your touchpad device and select "Update driver."
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver.

Check touchpad settings: Ensure that the touchpad settings are configured correctly. You can access touchpad settings by:

  • Pressing the Windows key and typing "Touchpad settings."
  • Adjust settings such as sensitivity, tapping, scrolling, etc., according to your preferences.

Re-enable touchpad: Sometimes, the touchpad may accidentally get disabled. To re-enable it:

  • Press the Windows key and type "Mouse settings."
  • In the Settings window, select "Devices" and then "Touchpad."
  • Make sure the touchpad is enabled.

Hardware check: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the touchpad.

Check for updates: Make sure your laptop's operating system (Windows 10) is up to date. Updates often include fixes for various bugs and issues.

If none of these solutions work, it's possible that there's a deeper issue with your touchpad hardware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
