Backlight Issues
- Check Backlight Settings: Ensure that the keyboard backlight setting is enabled. You can usually toggle it on or off using a specific key on your keyboard, often one of the function keys (such as F5 or F11).
- Update or Reinstall Drivers: Make sure your keyboard drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the device manager, finding your keyboard, and updating the driver.
Display and Contrast Issues
- Check Display Settings: Adjust the brightness and contrast settings through your display settings. Right-click on the desktop, select "Display settings" or "Graphics properties," and adjust the contrast from there.
- Graphics Driver Update: Ensure your graphics drivers are updated. Visit the HP support site or use a tool like HP Support Assistant to check for graphics driver updates.
Keyboard Functionality Issues
- Keyboard Cleaning: Sometimes debris or dust under the keys can cause them to malfunction. Try cleaning your keyboard gently.
- Driver Updates: Similar to the backlight issue, make sure your keyboard drivers are up to date. Check for updates through the device manager.
