Hi @opdjoe,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop keyboard!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Restart Your Laptop

Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary issues.

2. Check Keyboard Connection in 360 Modes

If your HP Envy x360 laptop supports 360 modes, ensure it is not in stand, tent, or tablet modes, as the keyboard is disabled in these modes. Switch it to clamshell mode to enable the keyboard.

3. Turn on the Touchpad (if applicable)

If your touchpad settings and components may be directly related to the keyboard functionality:

  1. Select the Search icon in the taskbar, type touchpad settings in the search box, and then press Enter.
  2. Using an external mouse, click the Touchpad button.

4. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

  1. Select the Search icon in the taskbar, type device manager in the search box, and then select the Device Manager app.
  2. In Device Manager, expand the "Keyboards" category.
  3. Right-click your keyboard device and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" (if uninstalling, restart your laptop to reinstall).

5. Check Power Management Settings

Ensure your laptop is using the correct power settings:

  1. Type power options in the taskbar search box, and select Power Options.
  2. Adjust power settings or check if Hibernate or Sleep settings might affect peripherals.

6. Use HP Diagnostic Tools

Run the HP Battery Check tool in the HP Support Assistant app:

  1. Type support in the taskbar search box, and select the HP Support Assistant app.
  2. Select My PC, select the Diagnostics and Tools tab, and then select HP Battery Check.

Let me know how it goes.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
