Hi @akash2306,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Laptop's battery is experiencing significant degradation, which is causing it to drain rapidly and charge quickly. Here are some steps you can take to address this issue.

Check Power Settings: Ensure that your power settings are optimized for battery life. Sometimes, settings like screen brightness, background apps, and power-hungry applications can drain the battery faster.

Calibrate the Battery: Occasionally, calibrating your battery can help recalibrate the battery indicator and improve its accuracy. To calibrate:

  • Fully charge your laptop battery.
  • Use your laptop on battery power until it completely drains and shuts down.
  • Charge it back to full without interruptions.

Update BIOS and Drivers: Ensure your laptop's BIOS and battery-related drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updates can improve battery performance and reliability.

Replace the Battery: Given that your battery health report suggests significant aging, replacing the battery might be necessary. You mentioned your warranty expired recently, so you might want to check if there are any extended warranty options or consider purchasing a new battery.

Battery Conservation Tips: Until you can replace the battery, you can try to extend its lifespan by:

  • Avoiding deep discharges (try not to let it drain completely often).
  • Keeping your laptop cool, as heat can accelerate battery degradation.
  • Using power-saving modes and reducing unnecessary background activities.

Given the rapid drain and quick charging you're experiencing, it's likely that the battery's capacity has diminished significantly over time, necessitating replacement for optimal performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
