Hi @Lokesh95,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the fan in your HP Pavilion 14 laptop is not working, it can indeed lead to overheating issues that can potentially damage your laptop's components. Overheating can cause performance degradation and even permanent damage to the hardware. Here are some steps you can take to address this issue.

Check Power and Settings:

  • Make sure your laptop is properly plugged in and receiving power. Sometimes, the fan might not start if the laptop is on battery-saving mode.
  • Check the power settings in your operating system to ensure that the laptop is not set to a power-saving mode that could restrict the fan's operation.

Restart the Laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can solve minor software glitches that might be causing the fan to not function properly.

Clean the Vents and Fans:

  • Dust and debris can accumulate in the vents and fans, blocking airflow and causing the fan to work inefficiently or not at all. Use compressed air to gently blow out any dust from the vents and fan areas. Be sure to do this while the laptop is turned off and unplugged.

BIOS Update:

  • Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop model. Sometimes, BIOS updates can improve hardware functionality, including fan control.

Check for Software Issues:

  • Sometimes, software conflicts or drivers issues can cause fan problems. Make sure your operating system and drivers are up-to-date.

Hardware Inspection:

  • If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with the fan or the fan's connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
