my memory limited and not usable full memory

hi hp forum

i installed 8 gb memory in my laptop

my laptop model 15g005ax

in bios showed to me 8gb memory

but in windows show to me 3.94 gb usable

like this Memory 8GB (3.94GB Usable)

i tested memory , checked msconfig boot option and checked regedit

please help me

Hi

There is a 4 Gb limit for 32 bit Operating Systems, which looks like your situation, except you posted as a 64 bit.

The other area is that RAM can be allocated to the Graphics, so perhaps check with Piriform Speccy.

If you are using a 32 bit OS then you are limited to 4 Gb, you say you are using a 64 bit.

If you have onboard Graphics that use the main memory like mine.

My total physical is 6.94 Gb, I have an 8 gb stick, 1 Gb to my graphics and 7 Gb to my RAM allocation.

Otherwise you have a stick that is only 4 Gb and is reporting itself as 8 Gb by lying to you.

So do you have onboard Graphics?

Do you have 2 x 4Gb sticks and 1 is faulty?

Have you used piriform Speccy?

Belarc Advisor says 7104 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory

Slot 'Bottom-Slot 1 (left)' is Empty
Slot 'Bottom-Slot 2 (right)' has 8192 MB

So until you actually use something and show the evidence it is hard to help.
