Hi @ahmedfadle,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's not typical for a battery to drop from 96% to 52% within 4 hours of not being used, especially on a new device like your HP Victus 16. There could be a few reasons for this, such as.
- Background Processes: Sometimes, even when you're not actively using the laptop, background processes or apps can drain the battery. You can check for any processes consuming a lot of power via Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open it).
- Battery Calibration: The battery may need calibration, especially on a new laptop. Try fully charging it to 100% and then letting it drain to 0%, and then recharge it again.
- Power Settings: Ensure that your power settings are optimized. You can check if your laptop is set to a power-saving mode or if there are any high-drain features (such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) still active.
- Battery Health: Although it's a new laptop, there could be a battery defect. You can check the battery status in Windows by typing battery report in the command prompt (cmd), which might provide insight into its health.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
