Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your touchpad. Let's try a few steps to get it working again:

Check Touchpad Settings

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Navigate to Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad.
  • Ensure the Touchpad toggle is turned ON.

Update Touchpad Drivers

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click on your touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics, ELAN) and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off your notebook.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter and turn on your notebook.

Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn off your notebook.
  • Turn on your notebook and immediately press Esc repeatedly.
  • Press F2 for System Diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests > Mouse/Touchpad and follow the on-screen instructions.

Install Latest Drivers from HP Support

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Enter your notebook model and download the latest touchpad drivers.

I hope this helps.
