Unfortunately, there aren't any programs you can use to determine the maximum capacity storage drive you can install.
You will need a single sided SSD (memory chips on one side of the circuit board).
HP only offered NVMe SSDs up to 1 TB in the model series, but that is usually just what they offered, not the maximum capacity supported.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
The manual also indicates that two M.2 SSD's are supported in the model series.
The Crucial SSD report for your notebook indicates that they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB.

The limit is very high BUT physically vendors can only squeeze 2TB to a single sized card. Some vendors have 4TB now but I don't know how good, bad, ugly they are.
