Microsoft Windows Vista

I have internet access,  but IE won't let me get a new browser or update one. I cannot browse for another . What do I need to do to get online?

The only suggestion I can offer would be to use another PC and download the legacy version of the Vista Firefox Browser installation file, copy it to a USB flash drive, plug the flash drive in your Vista PC's USB port, copy the file to the Windows desktop and run the Firefox installation file.

The was the newest version supported for Windows Vista:

Firefox Setup 52.9.0esr.exe

Hi Paul  we were able to download Chrome,  but could not get it to install as IE and Microsoft are blocking anything we try to do.  Error after error we cannot update anything on this laptop. Even if we were able to somehow update anything,  it would nor be usable as a way to surf or do any work with as it is slow.  I believe we are at a stopping point.  I want to thank you for your time and trouble helping us.

Thanks again

Richard,

You're very welcome, Richard.

Unless there was a legacy version of Chrome you installed that was supported for Microsoft Vista, it won't work.

The Firefox file link I posted was the last version supported for Vista.

Cheers,

Paul
