Hi @cer7

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Ugh, that’s so frustrating—especially when you’ve already gone through all the usual steps and nothing’s changed. Let’s dig a little deeper and try a few more targeted fixes to get your network adapter working again. 💪

🛠️ Advanced Steps to Fix Network Adapter Issues

1. Run HP Network Diagnostics

  • Download and install HP Support Assistant from the HP Support site if it’s not already installed.
  • Open the app and select your device.
  • Run HP Network Check under Troubleshooting and Fixes—it can detect hidden issues and repair them automatically.

2. Reset Network Settings

This clears out any misconfigurations that might be blocking your adapter.

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  • Scroll down and click Network reset.
  • Click Reset now and restart your laptop.

3. Reinstall the Network Adapter

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
  • Expand Network adapters.
  • Right-click your wireless adapter and choose Uninstall device.
  • Check Delete the driver software for this device if available.
  • Restart your laptop—Windows will reinstall the adapter automatically.

4. Run Command-Line Fixes

Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run these one by one:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

Then restart your laptop and test the connection again.

5. Check for Hidden Conflicts

  • In Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices.
  • Look for any ghosted or duplicate network adapters.
  • Right-click and uninstall any that look suspicious or outdated.

Let me know how far you get with these steps.

You’re not alone in this—we’ll get it sorted together! 😤💻
