Hallo Rainbow, my usersname changed to Sigrid51, my productnr is 7P6R4EA#ABH, HP Netherlands is sending all kinds of you tube info of older models but no one of the actual laptop. The problem is to open the bottom plate to insert an 64 GB memory inplace of the existing 32 GB. There is no more reply of anybody of HP  in the Netherlands. There should be a documentation of this apparatus in the States, but it seems as if they are denying access. It is taking now already days and days. with thanks for your reply Sigrid51

Hi @Sigrid51,

The maximum RAM supported is 32 GB only.

You may check page 9 of this User Manual.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

The manual linked here is outdated, as the mentioned laptop contains an Intel 13th gen processor, NVIDIA RTX 40-series graphics card and DDR5 memory.

The memory controller supports up to 128GB DDR5 at 5600MT/s, the official manuals are always a bit misleading. HP supports up to 32GB, doesn't mean the device has these limits. The upgrade should be fine.

However, the manual should be accurate when it comes to accessing the RAM:

1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 29).
2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 29).
3. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 30).

Most of HP's Manuals or Specifications tend to limit the amount of ram "supported". This one here I had to run  in the Command prompt (Run as Administer) with the command here- "wmic memphysical get MaxCapacityEX" without the quotes and divide the value by 1024 That will give you the total amount supported by your laptop.

HP supports 16GB, but I'm running 32. Everything in the Service Guide is correct, save for max memory supported.

Hallo Rainbow, Merdeper, pbroussard,

I am Sigrid51's husband:

One of the group members gave the clue to the query that the actual memory controller is capable of handling 128 GB, also our shop in the Netherlands provided the information that our top of the series laptop can handle 64 GB and supplied also the according part number. Thank to your kind information; Replacoing went well and the 64 GB is being recognised correctly.

Some of you provided a technical manual, albeit of 2021 but it shows the actual status of the components, albeit with old odd data, such as RAM 1 being 1 TB whereas in our Laptop is provided with standard 2 TB.

Though, what nowhere had been mentioned is that there exist a second empty memory slot designated (second SSD RAM. Which we also would like to explore.

Thank you all for your most friendly support, that was of essential help to us.

Signed Arthur on behalf of my wife Sigrid51

Here is a wealth of information on how to disassemble, remove  and replace parts in the Omen 17 laptop series..

It would have been nice if you had identified your notebook with its complete product name  and product number (system SKU)

Answering my wife Sigrid51 mail,

Some of you asked for the type number which had been shared before and I would like to share again:

Productnumber   7P6R4EA#ABH

My wife had exsplicitedly been informed not to share the serial number.

Kind regards, to all of the Community,

and thank you again,

Arthur Sigrid51 's husband

You were not asked to share the serial number.
