I want to upgrade RAM size of my notebook (model15-dw3045cl)

First of all, I need to know the maximum total RAM size allowed by this notebook (now it has 12 GB RAM).

Second, I want to know the maximum size allowed per RAM slot and how many slots does it has.

I'll appreciate any information about it.

Your notebook has two memory slots.

HP only has the service manual for the older 15-dw0xxx model series on your notebook's user guides page.

HP Laptop PC 15-dw3000 - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support

According to chapter 1 of that manual your notebook can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz memory.

You can also install DDR4-3200 MHz CL 22 memory, but it will only run at 2666 MHz.

If you are interested in installing more than 2 x 8 GB of memory, you can run this command to see if that would be possible:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
