Product: hp omen 15

I have a omen 15 en0006na a few days ago the R key stopped working,  was about to replace the keyboard when I found:

-to fix the "R" key, hold down the "D" key for 1-2 secs

-to fix the "X" key, again, hold down the "S" key for 1-2 sec

Why is this error happening is it a software issue or a hardware issue?

replacing he keyboard seems very compplicated how can be determined if this will continue happening, is it a bug or a mechanical issue on the hardware?
