Hi @Renushree,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you might be experiencing a backlight issue with your HP Pavilion 15 laptop's screen. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue.

  • Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve display issues.
  • Check Brightness Settings: Ensure that the brightness settings on your laptop are correctly adjusted. Sometimes, improper settings can cause uneven lighting.
  • Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can sometimes cause display problems. Try updating your graphics drivers to the latest version from the HP website or using HP Support Assistant.
  • Check Power Settings: In some cases, power settings can affect display brightness. Ensure that your power settings are optimized for normal operation.
  • Inspect for Physical Damage: Check the screen for any physical damage, like cracks or pressure marks, which could affect backlight distribution.
  • External Monitor Test: Connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the issue persists on the external monitor, it could indicate a graphics card or driver issue rather than a screen backlight problem.
  • Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you may consider backing up your data and performing a factory reset of your laptop to rule out any software-related issues.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with the laptop's screen or backlight.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
