Hi @akashabi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, which is good. Since you've isolated the issue to the Esc key specifically and other methods haven't resolved it, there are a few more things you can try.

  • Physical Inspection: Check the Esc key physically for any debris or obstruction that might be preventing it from functioning properly. Sometimes, dust or crumbs can accumulate under the keys, causing them to stick or not register.
  • Keycap Removal: If you feel comfortable doing so, you can try removing the keycap itself and cleaning underneath it. Be cautious not to damage the key or the mechanism underneath.
  • Keyboard Replacement: While it's not ideal, if the above methods don't work, you might consider replacing just the individual key or the keyboard itself. There are online tutorials and guides available for replacing laptop keyboard keys or the entire keyboard assembly.
  • External Keyboard: As a temporary solution, you can also use an external keyboard plugged into your laptop until you're able to resolve the issue with the built-in keyboard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
