Hi @JWM2209,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for contacting us, and I’m really sorry to hear that the hinge assembly broke and caused a crack on the screen. I know how frustrating that can be.

For hardware issues such as a broken hinge or cracked display, our support options are limited remotely. These types of damage require a physical inspection to determine the full extent of the repair needed.

What you can do next

Please get in touch with HP Support so the device can be assessed by an authorized technician. They will check:

  • Hinge assembly damage
  • Internal frame support
  • Display panel damage
  • Any additional components affected

Warranty Information

  • If your laptop is in warranty, HP will review the case and advise on available repair options.
  • If it is out of warranty, the repair will be a chargeable service, but HP can still provide genuine parts and proper workmanship.

You can contact your local HP Support team with the product details and serial number, and they’ll guide you through the repair process.

For more help, you can also share the pc details in private so I can get more help.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
